Mercedes-Benz UK Presents Winter Driving Course

It’s still a difficult winter in the UK, as heavy snow transformed roads into slopes and trips into adventures. Drivers facing unpredictable road conditions are exposed to serious risks as not all are up to the challenge.

If you’re the kind of man who always wants to be prepared, you can check out the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy’s newly launched course designed to train drivers of all capabilities for winter conditions. The course has the aim to increase road safety and could also save money on repair bills and insurance premiums.

The course will take place on the handling circuits and driving facilities at Mercedes-Benz World. Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy will prepare drivers who decide to take the course for ice and snow. The low friction, wet grip surfaces available at the training facilities simulate driving in icy conditions.

“Mercedes-Benz leads the way in safety technology and now with our winter driving course we take this a step further. The advanced low grip surfaces of the wet skid circle and straight mean that any driver can experience - in safety - how a car reacts on the limit in icy conditions and most importantly how to deal with a problem should one arise out on the road,” said Dermot Kelly, Managing Director Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars.

“To experience a car spinning through 360 degrees is a daunting prospect, so to do so on the safe and controlled purpose-built circuits at Mercedes-Benz World offers an invaluable lesson for everyone, whatever their level of experience.”
