With all the craze around the newly launched models and the stunning Concept IAA, you'd be forgiven if you ignored everything else at the Mercedes-Benz stand in Frankfurt.
But you'd be missing on a lot of cool stuff, including some scale models of Mercedes-Benz models, and who doesn't like scale models? After all, it's the perfect chance to own a Mercedes-AMG GT S, but this 1:18 "Camouflage Design" model costs EUR249 ($279 at today's rates), so... eh, maybe next time. It is a 190 units limited edition, after all, so its price might actually go up on in the future. There's a thriving 1:18 world of auctions out there, in case you didn't know.

Other than the model car, there's a whole selection of high-quality accessories, exclusive leather goods, practical sports goods and fine watches available, but the main centerpiece at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show was a GLC mid-sized SUV.

The GLK successor served as a lab rat for probably all of Mercedes-Benz's available accessories, because there's a whole list and the company uses the phrase "among others" to describe them.

We won't go through all of them (there's the press release below for that), but we'll just pick some highlights.

We'll start with the Mercedes-Benz illuminated star, which is pretty self-explanatory - the logo on the radiator grille is lit up when the car is locked-up, unlocked or when the doors are open. The point of having it? Well, it's cooler than BMW's corona rings.

High-gloss chrome-plated door handle recesses, useful for those who often forget to clip their nails and so make a habit out of scratching that area. The point of having it? It's chromed, so it's good.

There's also an "extensive range" of wheel design and sizes available. The show car had 20-inch five-spoke wheels painted in black, for example, which perfectly make sense on a car that will never go off-road in its life. The point of having them? To make clear to everyone your reasons for buying an SUV.

Black tire valve caps. The point of having them? Black wheels with silver caps would look like crap.

And the list goes on in our Press Release section, so enjoy.
