Airstream have been making Mercedes-Benz Sprinter-based motorhome conversions for a while now – in the shape of the Airstream Interstate and Interstate EXT – but they were based on the MY 2013 model.

At the upcoming 2013 LA Auto Show, the legendary caravan builder will bring their next-year model, based on the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter facelift.

With a price that starts at a “measly” $146,300, the new Airstream Interstate will be available with two lengths, just as before, both powered by the proven three-liter V6 turbodiesel that offers 188 bhp and 440 Nm (325 lb ft) of torque.

For that amount of moolah you obviously get a host of interior amenities which would rival some Malibu shoreline villas, albeit some very small ones.

The new Airstream Interstate has belted seating for nine passengers but can offer sleeping arrangements just for two them. Obviously, various floorpans can be configured so the figures above aren't set in stone.
