The official South African Facebook page of Mercedes-Benz just recently reached 100,000 likes and all we got was the following YouTube video.
Considering the aforementioned number of likes was reached in the span of about a year and a half, the feat is really something to gloat about, so we would have probably expected quite a bigger celebration from their part.

Still, the video was probably made in a rush, since they probably weren't expecting the need to honor an event that seems to have come a bit too soon, even for the high standards of the German manufacturer.

The short film depicts the most important milestones connected in one way or another with Mercedes-Benz that have taken place since the official Facebook page for the South African branch was launched in April 2012.

We're willing to bet that back in 1954 - when then Daimler-Benz first opened office in South Africa - no one would have guessed the amount of success that the three-pointed star would have there. Especially on the Internet. Which was precisely 40 years away from being invented.
