The Stuttgart manufacturer took double honors at the German Design Award 2014, with both the S-Class W222 and the Ener-G-Force LA Auto Show concept car being among the competition prize winners.
With over 1900 submissions, the 30 well-known design experts in charge of choosing the winners had a pretty tough job. In an effort to identify unique design trends they had to uncover a variety of design elements hidden in every submission, which make the Mercedes-Benz double-win even more impressive.

The S-Class and the Ener-G-Force concept won a “Special Mention” in the German Design Council commissioned awards for both bringing particularly successful design solutions.

The W222 generation of the S-Class had already won the “Best of the Best” award for both its exterior and interior design back in June, in the Automotive Brand Contest 2013.

The German Design Award competition is commissioned by the German Design Council, which is a foundation established over 60 years ago that currently gathers approximately 200 design-oriented companies.
