Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG - Hooned in Town

Ever since Mercedes-Benz released the first pictures of the SLS AMG, people’s imaginations exploded. It looked so mean, so brutal that it had to have an equally brutal engine note - it does. If you see one of these passing by, chances are you would have heard it a long time before seeing it.
The naturally-aspirated 6.2-liter V8 engine, the most powerful such engine in the world, is a sheer masterpiece of German engineering, both in its power output (and delivery), as well as the deep and warbly exhaust note. We say this engine sounds even better than any American muscle car, being beaten only by the Aston Martin V8 Vantage - a car that will make your eardrums bleed with pleasure when it passes by - the SLS is 85% there and that’s a great achievement.

Enjoy this V8 while you still can, because such engines are a dying breed, soon to be replaced by ‘more efficient turbocharged units’ - generally speaking, that is.
