It's easy to forget that you're driving with the top down in this thing. Everything's very quiet and refined. Then again, the Mercedes SL63 AMG also makes it fairly easy to remember that the roof is stowed - a simple push on the right pedal and the resulting triple-digit speeds will make your bpm explode.
Oh yes, we're digging deep into the throttle now and the SL's pulling away like a supercar. And we haven't even gotten to the best part of the car's character.

Mercedes' SL may be good at pulling acceleration stunts, but it's even better at allowing you to do so over and over again without any strain. This car is an exceptional GT, one of the best we've driven. No wonder the late Steve Jobs had a thing for it and kept buying new ones every once in a while.

Just take a look at that roof. Or, better yet, don't. Check out our Mercedes SL63 AMG test drive instead. You'll get the full experience there.
