After three long months, the Mercedes-Benz SL made another appearance in camouflage clothing but our carparazzi were not taken by surprise and took a handful of photos showing the roadster in action.

Spyshots of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz SL facelift started to surface last year, at a slow but steady pace.

That's how we know this will not be a superficial facelift but an extensive one, starting with the S-Class coupé headlights we saw on an SL test mule and ending with interior features like the new steering wheel.

This time around, the SL test mule lost a lot of its camouflage. Therefore, we can clearly see there's a new front bumper dominating the front end, along with a more prominent grille and a redesigned hood. The wind of change met the rear end as well, where designers came up with a new rear bumper, new exhaust tips and rear lights with revised graphics.

Moving towards the cabin, we can quickly spot some plastic surgery here and there, to add more premium feel for the occupants. Besides the steering wheel, Mercedes fitted the SL with a bigger touchscreen display as well as a new button configuration to tidy things up a bit.

The engine department

Mercedes-Benz officials have glue on their lips when it comes to engine choices for the upcoming SL, but here's what we know so far.

The SL400 version is already available for the 2015 Mercedes SL. It offers 333 HP coming from a twin-turbo V6, but AMG Sport could have a word to say later on after the SL facelift officially sees daylight. On that, expect the SL facelift to arrive in 2016 as a 2017MY, but as usual, we'll keep you up to date with the latest developments.
