Alongside the SLK CarbonLOOK Edition, Mercedes-Benz also brought a special edition of the SL Roadster (R231) at the Geneva Motor Show 2014.
Unlike its smaller brother, the somewhat oddly-named Mercedes-Benz SL 2LOOK Edition is a car that is in love with contrasts, both its exterior and its interior being a tribute to duality.
Painted in either designo magno cashmere white – like the car pictured – designo diamond white bright, tenorite grey or iridium silver, the special edition SL Roadster comes with the vario-roof painted in high-gloss black.
Customers who desire a more discreet appearance may choose to get the roof in the same color as the body though, albeit that would somewhat detract from the “look at my special edition car” look.
Also, if desired, you could also buy an SL 2LOOK Edition painted black, obsidian or magnetite black, which would probably work more with the optional 19-inch 7-twin spoke wheels painted in high-gloss black for a more undercover look when the sun comes down.
The contrast between light and darkness continues in the interior, where the seats are engulfed in black nappa leather with inserts in designo nappa leather in platinum white pearl. The contrasting design is also evident on the designo steering wheel, the armrests and the AMG floor mats.
Standard features include the Active Multicontour Seat package, heated and cooled seats and the AirScarf neck-heating system.
Available at start just for the Mercedes-Benz SL 350 and the SL 500, the 2LOOK Edition package can be had for the added price of EUR 9877 including VAT, in Germany. The SL 63 AMG and 65 AMG will also be available with it starting with June 2014.
