Few people realize that launching a model in markets around the world is usually a very time-consuming endeavor, as market-specific details have to be sorted out before the start of production.

Following its launch in Europe at the end of July, in China at the end of September and in the United States last week, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class W222 is now available at dealers in all three key markets.

Since the model was introduced in less than three months on all major markets, this makes it the fastest ever launch in the Stuttgart manufacturer's history.

“Since its launch three months ago, the new S-Class has already jumped back into the lead in terms of new vehicle registrations in Germany and its neighboring European countries, seamlessly building on the success of it predecessor,” said Ola Kallenius, Member of the Divisional Board Mercedes-Benz Cars responsible for Marketing and Sales. “ Our Customers around the world are raving about the cutting-edge design, the exemplary efficiency and the groundbreaking safety systems of the new S-Class.”

The rapid launch of the model was made possible by the record production start at Mercedes-Benz's main plant in Sindelfingen, where the car is now built in a two-shift operation. The new S-Class has already been ordered by over 30,000 customers around the world.
