Apparently, the new Sonder Klasse (Special Class in German) has been selected as the “Best Luxury Car” by the judges of UK's Car of the Year, with the judges commenting: “The S-Class is one of the few cars in the world where you would happily spend as much time in the back as you would behind the wheel. Impressive driving dynamics, coupled with a host of cutting-edge technologies, have seen Mercedes set new standards for the sector.”
We can't say that we don't agree with them, especially since we had the opportunity to experience the car both in its S 500 guise and as the S 63 AMG 4Matic, both of which impressed us from head to toes.
Arguably considered by most people as the “best car in the world” anyway, a weekly or monthly award confirming this should be nothing to be annoyed with, we're guessing.
The only quarrel we are having with this kind of awards and prizes is the fact that they never say which model from the lineup is best at “being the best car”, as the S-Class lineup currently consists of no less than seven versions in some countries, with more of them on the way.
