Soon after BMW detailed the lineup of cars it will be bringing to Paris for next month’s auto show, Mercedes-Benz announced on Monday its premieres for the event.
It has been a busy half a year for the Germans, who have presented quite a number of vehicles since the previous auto show, the one in Geneva, closed its gates in March. And the company just confirmed all of these new vehicles will get their first taste of a live audience in October.
The star of the Mercedes booth will undoubtedly be the electric EQC, the car maker's first real foray into the world of electric vehicles and the one hoped to spearhead the next hundred years of three-pointed star success. The new EQ brand will also be represented in France’s capital by the EQ Silver Arrow show car.
The ultra-high-tech GLE is next in line and will be presenting in Paris the latest interpretation of the best selling German SUV.
Another premiere of the show will be the new B-Class, a version “more dynamic than its predecessor and more agile while offering greater comfort.”
"In addition, the interior has been made more spacious, while the engines are now more efficient and cleaner," said Mercedes.
The fresh out of the box A35 4Matic with Volkswagen Golf R-rivaling capabilities will also be on site, complete with the newly developed 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with 306 hp. Alongside it will sit the A-Class revealed by the Germans earlier in the year.
As for the other sub-brands of Mercedes, AMG will be showing off in Paris the new entry-level version of the GT 4door Coupé, the 43 4MATIC+, while smart will be bringing to the Porte de Versailles a new show car, a reference to earlier concept vehicles Crossblade (presented in 2002) and forspeed (first shown in 2011).
