In case you haven’t heard it already, Mercedes-Benz used a rather familiar marketing strategy - the good, old product placement - to promote their freshest creations. After 18 years, the German automaker has once again partnered up with Universal and had their all-new GLE 450 AMG Coupe, G-Class, G 63 AMG 6x6, Unimog and Sprinter Van, all starring in the new Jurassic Park installment.
Remakes are the new black these days. Whether it’s music, movies or even clothes, fashion truly has its tendency to repeat itself and so does everything else, apparently. Almost 20 years since the events of the original film, Steven Spielberg returned as executive producer for the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park saga.

Dubbed Jurassic World, the film is also a somewhat big premiere for the automotive industry as well since Mercedes-Benz decided to bring to the world their all-new GLE 450 AMG Coupe along with the movie itself. The release date is set for June 12, but it doesn’t matter the automaker can't tease fans a little. The Germans just delivered a three-minute clip with some behind the scenes footage for devotees to get a first sense of their drill.

Our wide range of SUVs in particular fit perfectly with Jurassic World’s various requirements, with the focus on our new trendsetter, the GLE Coupe,” said Dr. Jens Thiemer, Head of Marketing Communications for Mercedes-Benz Cars. So what exactly are we looking at? Well, it’s, in fact, a prototype.

As we previously reported, the first prototype of this new SUV-sector vehicle was handmade especially for the film. And that's because Mercedes was not yet ready to provide a production-ready vehicle.

In fact, we’re one-and-a-half years from the vehicle’s official market launch. This also made them take all the “undercover” precautions. Even in remote filming locations on the Hawaiian Islands of Oahu and Kaua’i and NASA terrain in New Orleans, the automaker claims they shielded the vehicle from eager photographers.
