It’s not unpleasant to look at, but the Mercedes Benz is a bit of a monster. This glorified people mover is available with big V6 engines, all-wheel drive an full leather luxury interiors, but all these can actually be considered shortcoming when you’re talking about the competitive US market.
According to a Yahoo Autos report, Mercedes Benz USA has confirmed the 2012 R-Class will be the last one produced for the US market. The German automaker has only managed to sell 300 of these wagon-SUVs this year in America, and Christian Bokich says the R-Class sales have decreased “to the extent that we can no longer make the business case for continuing to offer the R-Class.”

We’ll remind you that the R350 4Matic starts at $52,690 (not including transportation) and comes with a 3.5-liter V6 mated to a seven-speed automatic, while the R350 BlueTec diesel is $53,840, being equipped with a 210 hp 3.0-liter turbodiesel.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
