Believe it or not, the three-pointed star is not only on a roll when it comes to sales and new products lately, but they are also passing the competition in terms of social media engagement as well.
Even though Mercedes-Benz started a bit later than rivals such as BMW and even Audi in the social media game, the Stuttgart car maker quickly picked it up and in recent years has become one of the most active car brands on Facebook.

That may actually be a huge understatement from some points of view lately, as Mercedes-Benz was the leader in 2013 when it comes to Facebook fan growth among all automotive brands, sporting an increase of no less than 3,207,507 new fans from January until the end of December of last year.

As far as global interactions on Facebook go, the three-pointed star is also in a firm first position, with a total of 21,999,293 Facebook interactions from January 1st until December 31st 2013.

The only other car maker that comes even remotely close in this area is BMW, but the Bavarians are actually a distant second, with just 17,243,437 social interactions on Facebook in the same time period.

The really interesting and somewhat flattering bit comes when talking about global brands and their interactions on Facebook, with the only other brand that had more of them being Disney, as you can see in the adjacent photos.

The top 5 and top 10s bellow were put together by Social Bakers using Facebook data gathered only from companies that appeared on the list of Best Global Brands 2013, by Interbrand, where Mercedes-Benz didn't fair too bad either.
