Apart from the 63 AMG version, the regular ML 550 (500 in Europe and all other parts of the world, except the US) is the most powerful and most expensive M-Class you can currently buy from your Mercedes-Benz dealer.
AutoGuide recently got their hands on such a model and have both a written and a video review which you can watch down below.
Their test model was specced with pretty much anything you can check on the options list, including a $4,600 “Designo” package for the interior.
With an “Auburn Brown” leather upholstery that also engulfs part of the dashboard and comes with a diamond pattern on both the seats and the door panels, the interior atmosphere pretty much screams opulence.
AutoGuide loved the responsive seven-speed automatic transmission, the torquey and smooth running 4.6-liter V8 and, of course, the gorgeous interior. The impressive off-road specification was also nothing to be ashamed with, although they too think that most M-Class customers will never use it to its entire capabilities.
The not-so-good impressions come from the inflated-with-options price of the tested car, which comes at a whopping $81,000 and the fact that the throttle calibration and overall feel on the road is not that engaging for the driver/pilot in you.
