A couple of days ago we told you about how soaring US sales gave Mercedes-Benz their best ever first quarter in the land of the free, but that is not the only region where the Germans are currently on a roll.
As a matter of fact, Mercedes-Benz just posted their best-selling month in the company's history this March, with no less than 158,523 cars being delivered to customers globally. This represents an increase of 13.3 percent compared with March 2013.

With over 374,276 cars delivered year-to-date, Mercedes-Benz has also posted the best-selling first quarter in history, representing an increase of 15.2 percent compared with the same period of last year.

“We are continuing the success story of the record year 2013 with additional new products and have posted the best-ever first-quarter sales in the company’s history”, said Ola Källenius, Member of the Divisional Board Mercedes-Benz Cars responsible for Marketing & Sales and former boss of AMG. “We have been posting double-digit growth rates for sales in every month since the beginning of the year. We expect added impetus from the new C-Class and the compact SUV GLA, which have been taking over the roads of Europe in the last few weeks.

Pretty much every market where the three-pointed star is present experienced sales growth, with vehicle deliveries in Europe increasing by 7.6 percent compared to the same period in 2013, while the US grew by 11.2 percent.

The biggest growth was experienced in the Asian markets, with the Chinese buying 34 percent more Mercedes-Benz vehicles than last year and Japan establishing yet another all-time record, with an increase of 50.4 percent compared with the same period in 2013. If the momentum keeps up in the rest of the year we may see the three-pointed star finish 2014 even closer to their two German arch-rivals.
