With more possible/probable launching date speculations than just about any recent Mercedes-Benz model, the upcoming GT AMG (C190) is about one inch for making an avid car news reader believe that it is in fact just vaporware.
That is obviously not true (the vaporware bit, ed), as the model has been officially confirmed for quite a while now, while spy shots showing it in various stages of camouflage have been popping up for a couple of years.

The latest speculation surrounding the date of unveil for the Mercedes-Benz GT AMG (C190) comes from MB Passion, who report that the upcoming sports car will be launched at the 2014 edition of the Paris Motor Show, in October.

This would contradict previous reports about a Hockenheim Grand Prix unveil and our speculation about an early reveal at the 2014 New York Auto Show later this month.

According to the German Mercedes-Benz blog, the car will receive an official press release sometime in September, just a few weeks before the launch in Paris, when the actual sales start will apparently also happen.

We aren't too sure about the information above, especially since the New York reveal would make more sense from a marketing perspective, with the 60 year anniversary of the 300 SL Gullwing being a perfect reason.

Whenever the model's unveil happens remains to be seen, but what we do know for sure is the fact that it will sport quite a beast of an engine, in the form of a newly-developed four-liter V8 with two twin-scroll turbochargers situated inside the cylinder lines.
