Mercedes-Benz Gives Funny Excuse for Pulling the “Service Song” from YouTube

A couple of weeks ago we showed you one of the most awkward brand marketing songs we had ever heard. We weren't the only ones to be at least mildly horrified by the “Your Best” service song, apparently, since a number of other car blogs thought the same and Mercedes-Benz quickly pulled the video from their official YouTube Channel.

Business Insider had a chat recently with Mercedes-Benz spokesperson Mareike Jahnle about the “Service Song-gate” and she had this to say:

“We were very dismayed to see how the 'Mercedes-Benz service song's video was perceived in some U.S. blogs. Therefore we immediately removed it from all websites we have control over. We regret that the video has caused concern and apologize for it. We certainly did not intend to offend anybody.”

Well, we can't say we were expecting actual apologies for our poor ears, but it's good to know they decided to spare other future listeners of the cheesy lyrics. Oddly enough though, Mareike Jahnle also said that the reason for the initial upload of the song to YouTube, for the world to see and hear, was because the tune had received “a lot of positive feedback internally”. Ouch!

The song is obviously no longer available on the Mercedes-Benz YouTube Channel, but TheAutoTrend uploaded a copy of it. In case you're interested in a good laugh, click play on the video below.
