Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG Specs and Pricing Leaked [Exclusive]

Right now, if you access the Mercedes AMG website and start looking for a G-Class, you won’t find one. Why? Because, like we reported in exclusivity, the G55 AMG was pulled off the market, with Merc set to replace it with the facelifted version.

Like we said a few moments ago, we’ve recently had a little chat with the Mercedes source that gave us the aforementioned piece of info and we received nothing less than the specs and pricing brought by the 2012 revamp. Thus, we are here to focus on the replacement for the G55 AMG and we really have a lot to tell you.

Not only is the 5.4-liter supercharged V8 gone, but so is the five-speed auto. Merc has now installed its new 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 in the G’s boxy engine compartment, along with the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic auto.

The G63 AMG will set you back EUR115,500 (USD151,340 at the current exchange rates), with the price not including VAT. The car will be able to receive attention starting from June. We’re glad we can play with 544 hp, but we must keep a moment of written silence for the loss of the demonic sound offered by the 5.4 Kompressor powerplant.

OK, we really can’t end this piece of news this way, so we’ll tell you that, if you want more, you can now opt for a V12-powered G65 AMG model.
