Mercedes-Benz E-Klasse by Carlsson

German car tuning Carlsson will debut a customized version of the new E-Klasse at the Tuning World Bodensee in Friedrichshafen that runs from April 30th until May 3rd 2009. The aftermarket model incorporates all kind of enhancements, including aesthetic and engineering upgrades that improve both the appearance and the overall engine performance figures.

The first thing you'll notice when looking at the car is obviously the changed design, with the aerodynamics kit made straight by head designer Rolf Schepp. The resulting model comes with a new front apron with vertically-adjusted xenon-light LED daylight running lights plus a stainless steel grid under the radiator grille. Rear diffuser, four stainless steel end pipes and rear spoiler are also included in the package, offering a sportier stance of the E-Klasse. The kit is made of polyurethane (PUR-RIM) which reduces the overall weight of the car, thus supporting the engine performance.

The car is lowered by up to 43 millimeters thanks to a lowering it C-Tronic Suspension that allows the driver to adjust the configuration depending on the road conditions.

Speaking of engine output figures, the E 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY brings 40 hp extra performance while E 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY adds 46 more PS. Additionally, "Carlsson offers the compressor kit CM50K including an entire exhaust system with racing header, high-performance catalysts and stainless steel mufflers for the top model E 500 (55 hp extra performance)," as the company said in a release.

Inside, the Carlsson E-Klasse brings brushed aluminum pedal layers, a white-lit Carlsson logo, leather gearshift and aluminum door lock bolts.

There are no pricing details for the time being but more details are expected to be released during the Tuning World Bodensee in Friedrichshafen.
