Mercedes-Benz will use the Geneva Motor Show to introduce a facelifted version of the AMG-tuned G-Class. In fact, the company will introduce two AMG-branded off-roaders, a refreshed version of the G55 AMG, as well as limited edition G65 AMG.
While the latter will use a V12 engine, the first will ditch its current supercharged V8 for AMG's new 5.5-liter twin-trubo V8 unit. A Mercedes source today confirmed this info, which has previously only been available from unofficial sources. In its quest for higher efficiency, the G-CLass will welcome the aforementioned under its bonet, which means that we should get 525 hp and a peak torque of 700 Nm.

In addition to that, Mercedes will also introduce various other tweaks that are aimed at reducing fuel consumption, so we should see a significant drop compared to the current setup. If only they could also give us the sweet sound of the supercharged engine...

Since we're talking about the G-Class and efficiency, we'll tell you that the same source stated the G-Class will also receive a hybrid version, which will come to the marker by the end of next year.
