As an entry-level 4-door the CLA-Class does a great many things for Mercedes-Benz, but one area where some find it lacking is practicality. We've known for quite some time now that the automaker is planning to address this with a sexy Shooting Brake.
Thanks to the numerous sightings made by our spy photographers, we believed its debut date was just around the corner. But a new report from British media states that's not the case.

Mercedes officials apparently told Auto Express that the CLA Shooting Brake will debut in 2015. That's kind of a long wait for what's essentially an added boot, but the upside is that it should have an AMG version pretty soon after launch.

Practicality will be the CLA SB's main attribute. The biggest cargo hold in Mercedes' compact car family will be accompanied by more headroom in the back. What's more, since the CLA four-door coupe is the most aerodynamic car in the world, fuel economy won't be too bad either.

That is, of course, unless you're waiting to buy the full-spec CLA 45 AMG Shooting Brake. That will retail from about €60,000 in Germany, it will its 2-liter turbo engine will be delivering no less than 360 hp and 450 Nm (332 lb ft) of torque to all four wheels.
