Mercedes-Benz CLA Gets Crash Tested by EuroNCAP

What is arguably the prettiest-looking model in the MFA (Modular Front-wheel drive Architecture) family just got its crash test results from the EuroNCAP, which it expectedly passed with flying colors.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA (C117) received five stars out of five, which is not exactly a surprise considering that its little brother, the A-Class (W176), received the same amount back in 2012.

What is a bit surprising is the fact that the CLA received a slightly lower pedestrian protection rating than the A-Class, despite both cars sharing most of their front-ends.

The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact, with the CLA's airbags and seat belts offering good protection of all body regions. The side impact barrier test was also taken with flying colors, with maximum points scored, while the more severe side pole test showed that protection of the chest was marginal.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA also received advanced rewards for its Attention Assist and Collision Prevention Assist systems.
