Mercedes-Benz CLA Gets an Actuated Spoiler From RevoZport

Last year, Hong Kong-based tuner RevoZport launched a pretty exhaustive aerodynamic package for the Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W176), with an A 45 AMG sporting such a bodykit having been covered by us while trying to overcome a speedbump in London.

Called RZA-290 for some unspecified reason (maybe someone at RevoZport is a Wu Tang Clan fan, ed), it included a front splitter, side skirts and a rear diffuser.

With the Mercedes-Benz CLA sibling selling like hot cakes on pretty much every market where it has been launched so far, RevoZport decided to give it a similar aerodynamic treatment as its hatchback brother, only this time it gets a twist.

Unlike the RZA-290 bodykit for the A-Class, the one for the CLA also gives customers the choice between three different trunk spoilers, which depending on the one chosen can transform the CLA into a regular track racer for the road.

There is a rather subtle ducklip spoiler which is only slightly larger than the one from the CLA 45 AMG, a GT spoiler which is probably a bit too flamboyant for the car involved, and then there is the piece of resistance in the shape of a carbon fiber trunk lid with an integrated hydraulically-actuated spoiler.

“We didn't want to spoil the design of the CLA sleek look, so we offer 3 options for customer to choose and the one I personally love most is a simple but a bit more aggressive ducklip spoiler which will adjust its angle according to the speed” said RevoZport's MD Charles W.

Personally, we are all over the actuated spoiler, as its subtleness is only equaled by its efficiency and this is also the first time that we hear of an aftermarket tuner to offer such a contraption.
