Mercedes-Benz tuning specialists Vaeth Automobiletechnik recently had a go at tampering with the top of the range non-AMG variant of the CLA (C117).
The smallest performance increase for the CLA 250 comes via some tinkering with the standard ECU, resulting in 245 hp and 390 Nm (288 lb ft) of torque instead of the standard 211 hp and 350 Nm (258 lb ft) of torque. This is done in exchange for EUR 940.10.

A step higher on the performance ladder is a more complete tuning package for the CLA 250, which increases its output to no less than 265 hp and 420 Nm (310 lb ft) of torque, translating into a naught to 100 km/h (62 mph) of just 5.9 seconds, while its top speed is increased to an electronically-limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).

Apart from the V25 electronics software upgrade, the 265 hp tuning package also consists of a Vaeth sports exhaust system including downpipes and a specially-developed air-filter. Of course, all these modifications come at a cost, with the package being available for EUR 4,950.40.

Apart from the engine tuning, Vaeth also offers a sportier and height-adjustable coilover suspension for EUR 3,546.20, or a cheaper, 30mm lower sport suspension set for EUR 452.20.

The Germans also offer visual mods in the form of a carbon fiber front spoiler lip, a tail spoiler lip and a set of gorgeous 20 inch light-alloy wheels, while the interior can be adorned with a range of inserts from carbon fiber and/or precious wood.
