The car comes with a sleek profile, offering a sporty yet elegant line that shouts “I’m a Mercedes coupe!”. The interior is a copy/paste job, using the other body versions’ features.
Mercedes is using the usual engine timeframe as far as the engine range is concerned. In other words, the vehicle is being launched with an engine line-up that only comes with three units, two petrol powerplants and an oil-burner. The entry-level model will be powered by a 1.8 liter gasoline engine, being followed by a 3.0 liter unit, which is here to cater for warmer transportation needs. The diesel engine comes with a capacity of 2.2 liters, promising a high level of efficiency.
However, the future is looking bright, as the coupe will get an AMG version. This is a long awaited development and we can be pretty sure that the C-Klasse coupe AMG will give a hard time to rivals like the Audi RS5 and the BMW M3. We’re waiting for the Power War to continue.
Mercedes will introduce the C-Klasse Coupe at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show and with the vehicle hitting the market later this year.
autoevolution will be attending the 2011 North American International Auto Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions.
