With just a few hours until the wraps are to be taken off the station wagon variant of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, a number of so-called journalists from automotive media outlets in the United Kingdom decided that it would be pretty cool if they would break the embargo and be the first to publish the official photos with the model.
In Germany, the new three-pointed star wagon is to be called C-Class T-Modell (Touring Modell), while the UK folks will call it C-Class Estate. Despite not getting it in the land of the free, Americans and other nationalities will call it the C-Class Wagon, but it really doesn't matter as long as the car will get the job done.

If the preliminary leaked numbers are correct, the new smallest Mercedes-Benz wagon is to have slightly more luggage room, with 490 liters (17.3 cu ft) of volume if the rear seats are up and a best-in-class 1510 liters (53.3 cu ft) of space when they are folded flat.

Speaking of which, the rear bench can be folded following the 40/20/40 split instead of the 60/40 from the C-Class Wagon S204, while the access to the luggage compartment can be done hands free if you're carrying groceries, just by waving the end of a foot under the rear bumper.

Thanks to the dramatically increased dimensions (just the wheelbase is 80 mm longer) and a better-designed cockpit, interior space is much improved especially for the rear passengers - with the model offering more legroom, shoulder, elbow and headroom.

Just like the C-Class W205 sedan, engine choices will only consist of four-cylinders in the beginning, with both diesel and gasoline to be available. From 2015 onwards the engine lineup will be greatly improved, with twin-turbocharged V6 and even V8 (476 hp C 63 AMG Wagon anyone?) options to arrive.

Expect more details about the new station wagon in the upcoming hours, as the official press release arrives in our emails. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class T-Modell S205 can be seen in person at the 2014 Leipzig Motor Show starting with next week, while European dealerships should get the car in September.

Later edit: More official photos and specifications have been revealed.
