Now that the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class W205 has been officially unveiled, car journalists and fanboys around the world will immediately start comparing the car to its most immediate arch enemies, which have historically always been the BMW 3 Series and the Audi A4.
Until a true comparison will take place between the three, we're pretty much stuck with putting them side by side for a design comparo.
Unfortunately, Audi's marketing machine either doesn't care much for the Audi A4 facelift to feature it in official photos from all the important angles, or they just think that its front and rear are so familiar that they don't need their own images.
In other words, we apologize to the Ingolstadt fanboys out there, but the photos in the following gallery are the only official ones that are appropriate enough to be featured in our visual comparison.
The fourth generation of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class makes both a return to the past and a jump in the future from a design point of view, with an overall looks that is clearly inspired by the S-Class W222.
How does it stack against its competition though? We are obviously biased, but the Avantgarde version with the AMG bodykit is in another class compared with the 3-Series or A4 from our point of view. What do you guys think?
Ed. note: The red BMW 3-Series is a Sport Line, while the blue one is Luxury Line, to better compare it with the silver Mercedes-Benz C-Class Avantagarde with AMG package and the blue one with Elegance trim, consequently.
