This had to happen eventually, and truth be told, we're glad it did sooner rather than later. The C-Class Coupe is Mercedes-Benz's latest range addition, but some are already thinking about a drop-top version for the coupe.
The image you see above was manipulated by X-Tomi Design, who just cut the metal roof and turned the coupe into a cabriolet with a few clicks and some Photoshop skills.
From where we're standing, the cabriolet looks just as good as if Mercedes-Benz designers were the ones behind the rendering. This hypothetical creation from Pixel Land is also a good reminder summer is almost over and drop-top times won't last forever.
As we snap back to reality, please note Mercedes-Benz are working on an open-top version for the C-Class. In fact, our team of carparazzi spotted C-Class cabrio and coupe test mules riding together.
Since the coupe already made an online appearance, all we can do is sit back and wait for the C-Class convertible to announce its presence. We have no doubt this version will be a stunner, especially when wearing the AMG Sport optional pack.
We expect the C-Class Cabrio to join the Coupe at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 since sightings of the former have been increasing in the past weeks.
It's too early to talk about an AMG-imbued engine, especially since the prototypes our car photographers spotted seemed to be C 220 d models, Mercedes-Benz's bestseller version in Europe.
In the US, the Germans will most likely stick to the 245-horsepower 2.0-liter mill. To be honest, we are waiting for the top-of-the-range C63 AMG Cabrio powered by a 4.0-liter V8 capable of delivering as much as 510 horsepower in its most powerful S variant.
We'll know more as this year's Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 will open its gates on September 14, so we'll keep you updated as soon as more info becomes available.
