With the upcoming W205 generation of the C-Class just around the corner, this “lineup malfunction” will be rectified, since the C-Class name plate will be found in the future on no less than four body styles.

The four horsemen of the C-Class apocalypse will comprise of a sedan, estate, coupe and a cabriolet model, which has just been spotted testing by one of our spy photographers.

As you can see, the spied C-Class convertible features a faux hardtop, but the production version will not go the BMW 3 and 4-Series Cabriolet route and still offer a classic soft top for its passengers. The engine lineup will be identical to that of the soon-to-be-revealed sedan version, including a hardcore AMG variant that will feature the a twin-turbocharged 4-liter V8.

The Air Scarf and Air Cap anti-wind gadgets will probably find its way from the larger E-Class Cabrio, making the interior ambiance with the top off one of the most comfortable of any convertible in the world. The model is expected to launch along with its coupe brother in maximum two years time, so stay tuned for more info in the upcoming months.
