Mercedes-Benz Brings Two Historic Touring Cars at the Westfalen Trophy

The second works racing car from the Mercedes-Benz Classic center and also one of the most prolific touring cars of the early 1990s will finally celebrate its official debut in historic racing.
The Germans will be racing their Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II (W201) on a circuit for the first time in the “Youngtime Trophy”, part of the 9th ADAC Westfalen Trophy held at the Nurburgring.

With famed 1980s DTM driver Roland Asch at the wheel, the car will be joined by the “Racing Fin”, which is a Mercedes-Benz 220 SE (W111)that has been taking part in the Dunlop FHR Long-Distance Cup since 2011.

The W111 will be driven by Amanda Stretton and Ellen Lohr - an ex-Mercedes-Benz DTM racing driver, racing truck driver and rally driver - during the ADAC Westfalen Trophy Race.

Mercedes-Benz 220 SE (W111) “Racing Fin”:

Production period: 1959 to 1965
Cylinders: 6 inline
Displacement: 2,195 cubic centimeters
Output: 88 kW (120 hp) at 4,800 rpm
Max. speed: around 170 km/h (106 mph)

Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16v Evolution II (W201):

Production period: 1990
Cylinders: 4 inline
Displacement: 2,490 cubic centimeters
Output: 173 kW (235 hp) at 7,200 rpm
Max. speed: 250 km/h (155 mph)
