As expected, the huge sales increase momentum that started in 2013 is keeping up this year as well for the three-pointed star, with February figures once again breaking previous records.
January went by fast, and Mercedes-Benz achieved an increase of 15.4 percent compared with January 2013, having sold 109,477 vehicles.

Now that February is also gone, the bean counters in Stuttgart did the numbers and they are even more impressive.

Mercedes-Benz alone sold 104,968 cars last month, which translates into a 16.6 percent increase compared with the same month last year and the best February ever from this point of view for the German car manufacturer.

“We are keeping up the high momentum of the previous months - with a double-digit sales increase and growth in all regions”, said Ola Källenius, Member of the Divisional Board Mercedes-Benz Cars responsible for Marketing & Sales and former boss of AMG. “Our E-Class and S-Class are posting particularly strong growth rates. And, as the incoming orders for the GLA and the C-Class indicate: We have the right products at the right time.”

Every single market where Mercedes-Benz is present posted increased sales in February, with the E-Class W212 facelift having the higher jump in sales since last year (+40.8 percent).

Apart from the smart fortwo, which experienced a decrease in sales of 6 percent that is somewhat expectable as a new generation is on the way, each and every model from the Mercedes-Benz range was sold in more units compared with the same period last year.

With the GLA coming to the European market in about a week and the C-Class W205 also about to start hitting dealerships across the old continent, upcoming months should go even better from the sales point of view for the Stuttgart brand.
