You could say that the only Mercedes-Benz pick-up truck in the Germans' current model range is the bonkers G 63 AMG 6x6, but that model isn't exactly in mass production, since there are not that many sheiks in the world.
Mercedes-Benz has hinted about wanting to enter the pick-up truck market from the time they were part of the ill-fated DaimlerChrysler “marriage in heaven”. Back then it was about transforming the Ram in a Mercedes-Benz and, even though the marriage ended in an expensive divorce, the three-pointed star is apparently still yearning to have a pick-up.

According to Road & Track, the Daimler and Renault-Nissan tie-up almost brought us a Nissan Titan and a Frontier with restyled fronts, interiors and a bit of mechanical tuning which were to be sold as Mercedes-Benz models.

Apparently, the deal fell through in the last minute because Nissan didn't want to reengineer the two pickups for the wide range of engines that the Germans wanted, including potential hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants.
