The SLT range of heavy-duty trucks from Mercedes-Benz is quite literally the piece of resistance in terms of bad-ass haulage of pretty much all types of things.
We say literally because the torque of the most powerful engine fitted to the Actros SLT allows it to haul no less than 250 tons of just about anything you can imagine, and not many moveable things weigh more than that.
Even so, if needed, road-going trains comprising of three tractors can pull a total train weight of 750 tones. The vehicle combinations can span 50 or even 100 meters in length, so you can put that in your pipe and smoke it, Antonov 225!
The Actros SLT and the Arocs SLT are currently the only two heavy-duty trucks that feature Euro 6 engines and both represent the pinnacle of the Mercedes-Benz truck range.
The OM 473 engine, for example, is an inline six-cylinder whose displacement of 15.6 liters allows it to develop 625 hp and a monstrous 3000 Nm (2213 lb ft) of torque, which means that it could probably be used to slowly demolish buildings like pulling a tooth.
On top of it all, both the Actros SLT and the Arocs SLT tractors look like the heads of a giant Gundam robot, which is pretty much the epitome of awesomeness.
