Mercedes Announces Best Ever November Sales in UK

Mercedes has seen its market share increase in Britain, while also announcing double-digit growth in Britain during the month of November 2011. For the year to date, the German luxury automaker has already beat last year’s full results with time to spare.
Figures released today by the SMMT reveal that Mercedes has sold 76,570 new cars, up 10 per cent on 2010’s results of 69,617 vehicles for the same eleven month period. The overall market in the UK dropped 4.5 percent during the same period, making their achievement that much more impressive.

Mercedes can also boast with its best ever month of November, with deliveries of 6022 units, up 10.7 percent on the same month of last year. Six models bearing the three-pointed star also recorded double digit growth last month - the C-Class Estate, the SLK-Class Roadster, E-Class Cabriolet, CLS-Class four-door Coupé, GL-Class luxury off-roader and the R-Class luxury family vehicle all reporting at least 40 per cent improvements this year compared with the first 11 months of 2010.

“Mercedes-Benz offers the widest range of products of any manufacturer in the UK, and the latest registration figures show that we have achieved incremental, sustainable growth across a wide part of our range, from cars to commercial vehicles. Rather than seeing a spike in one model and pinning our sales results on that, we have increases in cars, vans and tractor units.  We have an ambition to lead the way in every sector in which we compete, and the entire team in our dealer network across the country is working tirelessly to deliver great products at competitive prices to all our customers,” said Marcus Breitschwerdt, President and CEO Mercedes-Benz UK.
