Mercedes Anniversary Year Campaign Announced

Announced ever since the end of last year, Mercedes Benz's anniversary celebrations are about to kick off in Germany and worldwide. As you remember, the Germans are celebrating this year the 125th anniversary of the first patent filing by Carl Benz at the Berlin Patent Office, for the now famous “vehicle with gas engine.”

The exact instance when 125th would have passed since that moment in 1886 is on January 29, the day when the German manufacturer will flood the advertising world with print advertisement, a magazine supplement, countless online measures and a ten second TV spot.

The print campaign will be called "Inventors of the automobile. Since 1886!" and will feature on a whole page in national newspapers, the Benz Patent motor car from 1886, accompanied by the F 800 Style research vehicle.

“125 years ago, we invented the automobile. Today, our passion for new ideas is as strong as ever, as we work on everything from electric drive systems to fuel cell technologies. Because 125 years from now, we still plan to be ahead of our time,” promises Mercedes in the print ad.

The magazine supplement, a 16-page long history of the Mercedes brand, is titled "Coming up with answers. Since 1886!" and will feature pretty much all worth mentioning cars wearing the three pointed star logo, from the first automobile to the F 800 Style.

The TV spot to be launched by Mercedes will complete, together with the online offensive, the start of this special year. In addition, Mercedes prepared special offers, customer incentives and a whole range of side distractions, like an international soccer match between Germany and Brazil or the biggest meeting of Mercedes-Benz Clubs of all times.
