Mercedes and Cigarette Racing Release AMG GT S Inspired Boat Rendering

Almost five years have passed since we first met the Cigarette Racing team. Back then, they partnered up with Mercedes-Benz AMG to create a racing boat worthy of the Miami International Boat Show and it took inspiration from the Mercedes SLS AMG. Years and a couple of new auto-inspired boats later, the high-performance vessel maker returns with yet another beauty.

The announcement was made on the racing team’s Facebook page the other day and confirms that Cigarette Racing and Mercedes-AMG join forces for the fifth consecutive year to launch their latest development. Apart from the sleek looks and the obvious yellow color, there’s not a lot that the two are willing to express on what the boat will be like.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT S is the second sportscar developed entirely in-house by Mercedes-AMG after the SLS AMG, so there’s a lot at stake here. The 4.0-liter M178 twin-turbo V8 petrol engine develops 510 horsepower with 479 lb-ft (650 Nm) of torque which makes it quite a precious two-seater.

Then there’s the spaceframe chassis and body which are made of aluminum alloys, while the bootlid is steel and the engine bonnet magnesium. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a transaxle 7-speed AMG Speedshift dual clutch gearbox. And the story could go on for a while.

Since there are not a lot of details released, we’re going to have to wait until February 12th, when the Miami International Boat Show will take place, because that’s where the new Cigarette Racing 50’ Marauder GT S Concept will be officially unveiled.
