The collaboration between Mercedes-AMG and the Cigarette Racing team has led to a new and exciting project.
We are talking about the Cigarette Racing Team 41’ SD GT3 boat, a craft inspired by the Mercedes-AMG GT3 model. It is presented as the most powerful “open performance” boat ever made by the team and features two Mercury Racing engines of 1,100 HP each.

The boat is 41’ long (12.49 meters) and can achieve a top speed of over 100 MPH (160 km/h) on water. The top speed of this vessel is only restricted by the propeller, as the power available to it would allow the Captain to take it even further. Thanks to its lightweight construction, the boat weighs just over 20,000 lbs (10,200 kilograms).

The SD GT3 craft, featured in the photo gallery attached to this article, was designed under the leadership of Gorden Wagener, Daimler’s design chief. Since it was inspired by the Mercedes-AMG GT3, the boat has borrowed the livery from the race car, having a gray exterior with yellow stripes. The passenger compartment features teak wood flooring, marine-grade leather, and matte components. This interior combination was a first for Cigarette Racing, and it all happened under Mr. Wagener’s leadership.

The controls are computer operated, and the boat’s open cockpit features three 17-inch displays. It also has Bluetooth connectivity, along with state-of-the-art navigation and audio systems.

The newest ship from Cigarette Racing Team has been revealed at this year’s Miami Boat Show. Like concept cars, this vessel was designed for show and joint advertising purposes. However, interested buyers are invited to ask for a quote on a personalized example. Last year’s boat made by Cigarette Racing cost over $1.2 million, so we would not expect the latest creation to be cheap.

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 isn’t an affordable vehicle either, so those who can afford racing one have the financial means to purchase a boat like this. The GT3-class racecar will compete against its equivalents from Porsche and other carmakers on FIA-sanctioned competitions across the Globe.
