In order to already prepare for the 2014 DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft) championship, Mercedes-AMG's racing partner HWA will strengthen its management team by welcoming Urlich Fritz, who will take on responsibility for commercial operations and team management.
Fritz's previous job was also linked to motorsport, as he was the Senior Manager for Marketing Communications at the AMG Driving Academy and Customer Sports arm of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to Ulrich Fritz, who becomes HWA AG’s newest board member. We already know one another very well from our work with the SLS AMG GT3 in AMG customer sports, and I am looking forward to collaborating further with him.” said Gerhard Ungar, the Technical Director and CEO at HWA AG.

In case you were not aware by now, HWA comes from Hans Werner Aufrecht – yes, the Aufrecht in AMG – and they are responsible for the engineering, including development, design and construction of all Mercedes-AMG C-Coupes racing in DTM.

Since the year 2000 and the “reborn” DTM championship, HWA has won six drivers' championships, five constructor titles and no less than nine team titles.
