We have to admit Toyota's Prius Getaway Car Super Bowl Ad was amusing enough for us to remember it. However, we can't help but think that the automaker's Prius-drifting marketing efforts (there are more of them) are a bit like a ":)" emoticon placed at the end of a sentence whose impact you were not sure of.
Well, somebody finally decided to troll Toyota over its oddball humor, and yes, we are talking about a German carmaker.
However, this is no ordinary German automaker - such companies exist - since we're talking about Mercedes-AMG.
Affalterbach decided to talk some sense into the world's number one carmaker, turning to Twitter in order to accomplish its goal.
And we can't hold anything against AMG's marketing crew for pointing out their GT is a realistic getaway car. Heck, they didn't even mention Toyota's name in their tweet.
Oh, and they also got the Super Bowl 50 hashtag right. Anybody whose been on Twitter lately knows hashtags have gotten wilder than wildfires, so we appreciate such precise efforts, even if they are probably part of the job.
The only question that remains here has to do with the number of seats on the Mercedes-AMG GT. Since Toyota's bank-robbing team was comprised of three rather confused men, we wonder how MB-AMG expects them to fit inside the sportscar.
Does this have anything to do with size? Hey, you know what? This joke might be offensive to the height- and weight-challenged people. Something needs to be done, so we should all start squeezing small people inside as many GTs as we can find and post the images on Twitter to support the challenged ones.
Oh, wait, that's another kind of social media effort, one that we hope will never reach the automotive industry. While we wait for that not to happen, here's the Prius #SB50 ad once again.

If you want a realistic getaway car, we have a suggestion. #SB50 pic.twitter.com/BgVECXVSs7
