With less than 24 hours until their new single-seater is launched at Jerez, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team released four teaser photos of the W05.
As it can be seen in one of the shots, the new F1 car includes a tribute to Michael Schumacher, who has been struggling in a coma for over a month now following a skiing accident in the Austrian Alps.

The #KeepFightingMichael hashtag is sure to bring a tear or two in the eyes of its biggest fans, especially since the latest predictions about its future health have been pretty grim.

The W05 sports the first ever Mercedes-Benz racing engine that is no longer called an “engine” officially, but a “Hybrid Power Unit”, and it was built following the new FIA-imposed F1 doctrine.

With a displacement of just 1.6 liters, the turbocharged V6 is also incorporating a HY-KERS unit that offers about double the power than the motors in previous F1 seasons.

While initially we all thought it was going to sound like a vacuum cleaner on acid, it seems that the new powerplant's exhaust isn't so bad-sounding after all, as this short clip demonstrated us last week. Stay tuned tomorrow for the car's official reveal in the first day of testing at Jerez.
