When we saw an AMG GT with racing stripes in our email box this morning, we knew we were in for something special. The German tuners with the cool sounding name, Wheelsandmore, have just completed a new project based on the most exciting Mercedes since the SLS.
The good news starts with what is located underneath the bonnet, as the brand new 4-liter twin-turbo V8 has been tuned to produce 600 horsepower. Not only that, but the torque has gone up from 650 to 700 Nm. That's enough to give any Ferrari 458 owner the cold sweat!
The increased power comes with the help of software changes as well as the implementation of a stainless steel exhaust system. It should make the already throaty V8 sound like it's about to devour the earth.
As the name suggests, Wheelsandmore specializes in custom alloys. You can see their handiwork in the stance of the Mercedes-AMG GT S, which sits on 20×9.5 front and 21×11.5 rear six-spoke wheels. They come in a two-tone paint finish with copper for the lip and will set you back almost exactly €10,000. The tuner's press release says it also offers FIWE ultralight forged wheels and Carbonlook 6Sporz² models in the same size combo, both of which cost €11k.
So what about that cool suspension?… we hear you asking. Well, that's a racing coilover setup that set that costs another €4,200. If you're worried about lowering the car too much and not being able to clear potholes and humps, there's an optional Level-Control-System that can add 30mm of ground clearance at a moment's notice.
