Mercedes AMG GT Rendering Comes Beautifully Close to Real Thing

Having the engine in the wrong place has not hindered the Porsche 911 from securing a strong hold on the posh sportscar market, but that’s also partly due to the fact that it’s gone unchallenged. Ever since the new Jaguar F-Type came out, we couldn’t help the feeling that the whole industry is pulling the pincer maneuver around Ferdinand Porsche’s bulletproof sportscar.

Mercedes AMG GT Rendering
The Jag is coming in from the bottom with a better price and excitement, and the AMG GT is coming in from the top. Unlike the SLS AMG which is quite expensive, the new sports coupe is supposed to start at about €100,000. Trade in your old 911 and you easily be able to afford it.

Waiting for the GT to come out has been a nail-biting experience for all of us. After all, this is supposed to be the most beautiful Mercedes of all time. That’s why we’re showing you guys this latest rendering from Italian website quattroruote, which we think is micron-close to the real thing.

Besides the photo, the Italians have one extra-juicy piece of information to ad. The 4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine in the car will have not two but three power outputs, starting with a 400 hp version and going up to 570 hp with the Black Series. The GT will also be very light, about 200 kg lighter than the SLS. Believe it or not, but this would put it basically on par with the 911.
