For this one, you'll have to use the rewind button on your memory to take you back to when rumors of a four-door Mercedes-AMG GT were spreading in the car world.
Some media outlets suggested Mercedes-Benz is interested in building a four-door sedan derived from the Mercedes-AMG's division latest star, namely the AMG GT.

So far, these rumors have been denied by Tobias Moers, Mercedes-AMG CEO, who said the division "could have a stand-alone four-door sports car that isn't shared with Mercedes-Benz" but "using a GT platform is not feasible for that, though".

Of course, that didn't stop designers from coming up with a four-door version of the AMG GT, and we gathered here to talk about the latest renderings created by Theophilus Chin.

The digitally manipulated pictures were fueled by a new rumor, saying the so-called Mercedes-AMG GT4 will hit the market in 2018, as a rival for the Porsche Panamera. We won't insist on that right now.

Instead, please take a closer look at the images and tell us if there's anything unusual you can spot. Yes? No? OK, we'll help you with this one. Just look at the windscreen and the way the roof sits on top of the windows, isn't that looking a lot like the greenhouse of the Tesla Model S all-electric sedan?

If we were to comment on the design, our first impression would be that the AMG GT looks better in four-door setup. But real life taught us the fact that beauty sometimes has nothing to do with what customers want of what carmakers expect (the highest possible sales levels, that is).

Also, you could consider that Mercedes-Benz already has a fighter for the Panamera in the CLS, so AMG's intervention in this matter is very unlikely. What do you think?
