With the SLS AMG going out of production this year, the space it will leave behind will not remain empty, as the AMG GT (C190) is coming to fill part of its shoes.
We say “part of its shoes” because the C190 project will not be a direct replacement for the SLS AMG, as it will slot in the segment right under the modern Gullwing, where it wants to steal some slices from the Porsche 911, the Jaguar F-Type and the Aston Martin Vantage.
With an entire engine lineup instead of a single engine with different power outputs like the SLS, the new AMG GT could sport both a twin-turbocharged V6 (M276 DELA 30) for the base model and the new M178 twin-turbocharged V8.
The twin-turbocharged V6 hasn't been officially confirmed yet but there are different spyshots showing an exhaust that only sports two tips instead of the usual four in other AMG models, and the following images make no exception.
As you can seen in the adjacent photos, this AMG GT pre-production prototype has lost almost all its body cladding, with only a surface camouflage trim leaves less design details for the guessing.
