Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Rendered, Looks Spot On

With the Mercedes-AMG GT heading towards the final part of its life cycle, we can now rub our hands in excitment for what will probably be the ultimate incarnation of the supercar, namely the Black Series.

The GT Black Series has been spotted doing its thing at the Nurburgring (you'll get a sample in the clip at the bottom of the page), which is only normal if we consider that AMG boss Tobias Moers has let it slip that the machine will land next year (expect this to come to the US as a 2021 model).

So, to help us pass the time, I've brought along a rendering. This pixel play obviously uses the GT R as a starting point, even featuring the famous AMG Green Magno hue, but the digital art label behind this has paid close attention to the spy material portraying the Black Series.

And this is how we ended up with the massive double wing and the relocated exhaust layout.

Of course, the aero will be just one of the changes defining the newcomer. For instance, a noticeable diet involving carbon fiber panels and a plexiglass rear window will certainly be on the list.

The suspension of the machine will borrow a trick of two from the motorsport real and so will the rest of the aero (think: past the wing).

Now, the Black Series of the SLS, which makes for the predecessor of the toy we're talking about, actually came with a drop in torque. However, this won't be the case now that the formula involves a twin-turbo unit.

Speaking of which, the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 of the beast is expected to be pushed to around 700 hp. After all, the rivals of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series include the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and the McLaren 600LT, so the Affalterbach toy needs to shine in all areas.

The Black Series will also be the first GT to enter the sub-7 Nurburgring club (the best performance of the sort comes from the 585 hp GT R Pro, which needs 7:04 to blitz the Green Hell).
