Europeans have known for quite some time how much a brand new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe will set them back, but it is only now that buyers in North America are able to properly plan buying the car, as the German carmaker announced the pricing information for AMG’s latest hot car.
There will be only two versions of the car available at first, both with V8 engines at their center. The entry-level GT 4-Door Coupe in the U.S. will be the GT 63, powered by a 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine that develops 577 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. This model will be priced at $136,500, not including the $995 destination and delivery charge.

The top of the range, or rather the most powerful of the two, is the GT 63 S. Equipped with the same powerplant, the car develops 630 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. All that extra power comes, of course, at an extra cost, as this version is roughly $22,000 more expensive, at $159,000, also not including the $995 destination and delivery charge.

Both of the models will arrive at U.S. dealerships in the first half of next year and will be followed shortly a third version, one that will be cheaper than both the ones announced this week, the GT 53.

All of the 4-Door Coupe models will, of course, come with additional equipment packages.

The Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe is AMG’s third independently developed car and the brand’s first four-door sports car. The introduction of the model was carefully planned this year, and AMG is confident the car will continue the success of the GT line, launched in two-door configuration in 2014.

The AMG GT 4-Door, with all its variants, complements an already extensive lineup of cars that includes the entry-level GT, the mid-range GT S and GT C, and on top of the food chain the GT R and the recently introduced GT R PRO.
