Remember the times when the new-age Mercedes-Benz G-Class was only a rumor? Ah, how the world startled at the thought of a considerably lighter Gelandewagen that would feel modern and yet retain the character of the military-roots original. Well, the 2019 G Wagon has landed and while the offroader is a deliverer, it looks like this is still not enough for the Internet.
For one thing, Affalterbach has only come up with a new G63, while the V12-wielding G65 seems confined to the history books. Of course, with the latter being worshiped for its collector value rathaer than its driving experience, it's not like all that many fans would like it to return.

And those who do have no real reason to mourn, since German aftermarket developer Brabus has already gifted the new G-Class with a V12, introducing the development about one month ago - borrowed from the S600 L, the engine has been heavily reworked and now delivers no less than 900 ponies.

However, since the G63 is the current range-topper, the world wide web has come up with an incarnation that would be dedicated entirely to going fast, at least as much as the platform allows it.

Tentatively named Mercedes-AMG G63 Black Series, this might be a response to the long wait that still sits between us and the Black Series incarnation of the Mercedes-AMG GT.

Speaking of the GT, the rear diffuser of the latter is featured on this Gelandewagen and if you thing that's absurd, you probably haven't noticed the... triple headlights of the machine.

Now, all this crazy G-Class talk might have gotten you in the mood for ever more spiced-up G Wagon action. So let's take a bit of time to remember a real-world creation of the sort. I'm talking about machines like Jon Olsson's wacky open-air G here.
