Mercedes-AMG F1 Takes a Jab at Red Bull After Austrian GP

The champagne has already dried on the clothes of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton from yesterday's win of the Austrian Grand Prix, but that hasn't stopped whoever is in charge of the Mercedes-AMG F1 Twitter account to take a dig their rivals form Red Bull with a makeshift ad.
As most of you know, the Austrian Grand Prix returned to Formula One after a hiatus that took over a decade, with the former A1-Ring circuit in Spielberg being renovated by Red Bull and subsequently renamed as Red Bull Ring.

Not unsurprisingly, the tongue-in-cheek ad above depicts the only time that Mercedes-AMG Petronas has used the new name for the track, in every other circumstance preferring to call it simply the Spielberg circuit.

For those familiar with the Red Bull slogan - “Gives you wings” - and the not-always-politically-correct feud between Mercedes-Benz and Red Bull in Formula One, the fake ad above is bound to cause some smiles, as it surely did with us.

As most of you know, the 2014 edition of the Austrian Grand Prix on the Red Bull Ring saw Mercedes-AMG Petronas clinch first and second place, with Red Bulls Sebastian Vettel retiring with technical problems while Daniel Ricciardo only managing eight place.

Technically, the circuit was to host Red Bull's so-called “home race”, with the Austrians even erecting a huge statue of a bull in the middle of the circuit in order to welcome the current Formula One racers on their turf.

Since the race was clearly not in their favor, Mercedes-AMG decided to pour some salt on their wounds, but we have an idea that the ad above was taken in good spirit by Red Bull as well. Or was it?
